On July 6th, of every year, the City of Newport Beach honors Ben's legacy. This is most illustrated in the lifeguard community from City Officials to a sea of kids at the NBJG's who wear their Ben Carlson apparel to remember the community's hero!
Considering that the NBJG's do not attend on Friday's, and considering that this years' July 6th lands on a Friday, Ben Carlson Day will be celebrated on Thursday, July 5th.
